SBI Offers Doorstep Services For Senior Citizens
The service will be accessible for those living within a 5-kilometer span of select bank offices. These services are accessible against payment of an amount of Rs 100 for financial transactions and Rs 60 for non-financial transactions.
Clients should enroll at their home branch and, also, differently abled and sick clients should present a restorative testament with that impact to enlist for this service.
The RBI has guided banks to offer doorstep banking to the people who can’t make it to bank offices. In a round issued in 2017, it stated,
“In view of the difficulties faced by senior citizens of more than 70 years of age and differently abled or infirm persons (having medically certified chronic illness or disability), banks are advised to make a concerted effort to provide basic banking facilities.”
Many banks, nonetheless, are yet to draw up an approach for giving doorstep-banking services to clients.
