In front of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress today named Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the party’s general secretary for the Uttar Pradesh (East) district. She will formally assume responsibility from the first week of next month.
“Honourable Congress president has appointed Shrimati Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East. She will be taking charge with effect on first week of February 2019,” the party said in an official release signed by Ashok Gehlot.
