On the event of Women’s Day on 8th March, One of the world’s longest non-stops, Delhi-San Francisco (SFO) is set to run 12 major international flights with only women crew. The Air India to run 40 domestic flights with all women crew on the event of international women’s day. The International flights include from Delhi to New York, SFO, Chicago, Sydney-based, Rome, Washington, London, Paris and from Mumbai to Newark, New York, London, and Shanghai.

AI chairman Ashwani Lohani’s said: “Every individual and the society must respect women. I would like to congratulate our women crew for operating so many flights on various international and domestic routes fuelled by their indomitable nari shakti.”
Air India and many other Indian transporters will work domestic and international flights to nearby destinations with the all-women team on Friday. Air India will work for 40 such domestic flights.
Air India will convey its B787 Dreamliners and B777s to work to 12 universal medium and long run flights worked by women pilots and gone to by women cabin crew to praise the Women’s Day. For the vast majority of these flights, the specialized services will be given by women airplane engineers, flight dispatchers, technicians, counter staff, duty managers, helpers, and doctors.
“Air India’s foray into all-woman crew flights dates back to November 1985 when an all-woman cockpit crew operated a Fokker Friendship flight from Kolkata to Silchar. In fact, Air India’s rich legacy of woman pilots and commanders had started way back in 1956 when Captain Durba Banerjeewas inducted as the first woman commercial pilot of Air India (erstwhile Indian Airlines),” the airline said, adding, “AI had earlier created history by operating the around-the-world flight on Delhi-SFO-Delhi sector. The non-stop flight from Delhi to San Francisco travelled via the Pacific Ocean and returned via the Atlantic Ocean completing a round trip of the world.”
