Kerala has declared a health emergency in four districts with two more Covid-19 cases being accounted for on Tuesday evening. Prior, six people tested positive for the deadly virus on Tuesday.

Presently, 14 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the state. Each of the 14 people were contaminated through their contact from Italy. Prior, three medical students from Wuhan were seen as positive for Covid-19 and they have recovered and left isolation wards.
Coronavirus reemerged in Kerala after a NRI family from Italy visited the state on February 29 by means of Doha and abstained from screening at Kochi airport. The family – spouse, wife and child were followed on March 7 by the state hospital division and commandingly disengaged at Pathanamthitta General Hospital.

While briefing media, health minister KK Shailaja Teacher uncovered that the state is set for follow primary and secondary contacts of the NRI family situated in Ranni in Pathanamthitta district.
“We are using scientific methods to identify the primary and secondary contacts of the infected persons and seeking the cooperation of the public. By tomorrow, we would complete the mapping of high-risk persons and their contacts,” the minister revealed.
From the examinations directed by the health department and Pathanamthitta district authorities, it was discovered that the Ranni town where the NRI family caused frequent visits to have a place with the ‘high-risk’ category. The family and their contacts had gone to Ernakulam, Kollam, Kottayam, and Pathanamthitta district without playing it safe and mingled freely with the public.
“Our attempt is to check the community spread of the Covid-19 and quarantine the possible high-risk groups at the earliest. But there is no reason to panic and we have taken all precautions to provide medical help to all needy,” KK Shailja Teacher told India Today.
“We have to be vigilant against the deadly virus spread. Already 102 countries have been infected by the Covid-19 spread,” Vijayan said.
