A Federer-Nadal clash for the Miami Open finals
At Miami open, it took Federer three years and three hours to defeat Nick Kyrgios. He hasn’t won a single game against him for a considerable amount of time and it took him three hours to win this semi-final. Roger Federer defeated Nick Kyrgios by 7-6(9) 6-7(9) 7-6(5) in the semi final only to meet Rafael Nadal for the finals. Though he has won two of last three tournaments he played including Australian Open where he defeated Nadal in a gruelling five set battle.
It is a treat to watch both these gentlemen playing each other and the cherry on top is the fact that Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic both have displayed shaky form. Federer and Nadal are taking advantage of the situation and pulling up their socks to get back in the race to reach the most coveted position on the charts. Both of them have come from injuries and are really looking forward for the final on April 2.
Roger said that Nadal is his biggest rival and it feels like good old times. Nadal said that he is always excited to play Roger. He feels that Federer is a big challenge for him and maybe for everyone else too.
As for Nadal, he has been reaching the finals for four years straight but hasn’t been able to win a single Miami Open till date. In his semi-final against Fabio Fognini, he casually won by 6-1 7-5. He didn’t even face a break point and breezed past Fognini. Maybe he can overcome his heartache and claim this important Title at least once.
With a juggle in opinion, there can never be enough accurate data that can provide an outright winner before the match. One has to watch it to know it. The odds are in favour of Federer (based on his current form) while they also favour Nadal as he managed an easy win in his semi-final unlike Federer who took three hours. The final takes place on April 2 a little after 6 pm. May the better player win!
