The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the producers of ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ and requesting that they file a counter to an appeal to recorded by an MLA of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) over a song from the film, which supposedly discusses Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

TDP MLA from Pithapuram S V S N Varma questioned the visuals of the song which was transferred on the internet and asserted that it was endeavoring to depict Naidu as a ‘traitor’ who deceived TDP founder and former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao and criticize him. He said that the song recommended that the film would depict Naidu as a miscreant. He likewise requested that the court issue notices to the Censor Board and the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry to delete the song.
In the wake of hearing the government’s supplication, a division bench involving Chief Justice T B Radhakrishnan and Justice Rajasekhar Reddy issued a notice to the makers of the film including film’s maker Rakesh Reddy.
In December, TDP people in their response to a similar song had consumed photographs and likenesses of movie director Ram Gopal Varma before the AP Film Chamber Hall in Vijayawada. They raised mottos against RGV, requesting that he remove the song.
Lakshmi Parvathi was the second wife of NTR. He wedded her in 1993, a couple of months before he came back to control with a landslide victory. However, NTR’s son-in-law Chandrababu Naidu drove an inner party upset and wound up Chief Minister in August 1995, citing Parvathi’s developing interface in administration and party issues.
NTR had launched a campaign against Naidu for ‘manipulating’. He died in January 1996 at 72 years old. From that point forward, Parvathi had been living in political oblivion, until 2014, when she joined the YSRCP.
There are two biopics of NTR presently taking shape. While NTR’s son, actor and politician Balakrishna who is near Naidu, has featured in one, and the other one is Ram Gopal Varma had reported that he would make a biopic from Lakshmi Parvathi’s perspective and titled the film Lakshmi’s NTR.
