EIGHT opening ceremonies for IPL’s tenth season, one for each host city!
With IPL turning ten, a series of celebrations are in order with each of the host cities playing host to one of the eight opening ceremonies.
Before the first game at each home ground, there will be an opening ceremony at each venue. The pattern begins with defending champions – Sunrisers Hyderabad will play host to Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 5 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Rajeev Shukla, IPL chairman said that it would be unfair to call it his idea because it was team effort. All the members sat together and came up with the decision of having eight separate opening ceremonies across all the host cities to give their fans to be included for the record-breaking tenth edition of IPL Live.
Each of the ceremonies will have different segments focusing on the culture and tradition of host cities (Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Mohali, Mumbai, Pune and Rajkot) while highlighting the adrenaline rushes of the past nine editions of the tournament.
Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman are certain to make an appearance in Hyderabad this Wednesday before the IPL opener is played. BCCI wishes to felicitate these fine sportsmen for their perseverance, hard work and passion for the sport. A lot of Bollywood stars will present for the events to commemorate a decade of IPL seasons. With eight different ceremonies, they will be distributed too. Speculations suggest that Hrithik Roshan will be performing at Hyderabad on 5th April.
This season of IPL is struck with injuries. Leading Indian players won’t be seen in any action for the complete duration of the edition. While R Ashwin has been completely checked out, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Umesh Yadav are expected to appear on the field depending on their injury stature. While David Warner will lead Sunrisers Hyderabad, we still have to find out who will be asked to step up as the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, in case Virat Kohli isn’t declared fit to play!
Indian Premiere League Season 10 inaugurates on April 5, Wednesday with Sunrisers Hyderabad playing Royal Challengers Bangalore.
