Students from non-science stream can also contemplate MBBS. In an ongoing judgment, Rajasthan High Court has decided that the study of science is certainly not a necessary condition to seek after MBBS.
High Court Confess Non-biology Students Can Also Pursue MBBS
Two students named Neha Chaudhary and Suraj Bansal, who cleared the NEET placement test, were denied confirmation by the school on the premise that they had not considered science at a higher secondary level according to Undergraduate Medical Education Regulation 1997.
However, Court dismissed this and allotted admission to both in Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Government Medical College Dungarpur, individually. The court said since the competitors have cleared NEET 2018, there is no good reason for not give them affirmation as they have officially made themselves intensive with science while getting ready for the exam.
Tanveer Ahmed and JK Yogi counsels for the petitioners, had cited a division bench order of the Delhi High Court in the Tanishq Gangwar case in which it was ordered that “the disqualification of biology or biotechnology as an additional subject at 10+2 not be permissible.”
