Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to introduce 2 level papers for Mathematics. To give relief to class 10th students regarding the mathematics subject, CBSE has taken this step. While the 2 level mathematics exam will be introduced from next year, 2020 onwards. The CBSE has also released the circular regarding the same. As per the CBSE circular, present mathematics is known as Mathematics-standard and the easier level is known as Mathematics-basic.
CBSE to Introduce Level 2 Mathematics for 10th Class
As per the CBSE circular, students who fail in mathematics-standard exam paper will have the chance to select either mathematics-standards/mathematics-basic for their attempt.
“The syllabus, classroom teaching and internal assessment for both the levels of examination would remain the same; so that the students get an opportunity to study the whole range of topics throughout the year and are able to decide upon the level of Board examination depending upon their aptitude and abilities,” according to the official circular.
Candidates who select Mathematics-basic as their primary paper will not be considered for higher level mathematics while the students pursuing the mathematics-standard will have to qualify the test. Students will have the choice to select mathematics-basis or mathematics-standard. Students have to submit the list of candidates (LoC) before the exams.
