A Rs 150 crore Mi LED TV manufacturing plant of Chinese hardware major Xiaomi was initiated at close-by Renigunta on Thursday by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as a component of his intends to make the sanctuary town an electronic hub of the nation.

The plant, worked by Xiaomi technology partner Dixon Technologies (India) Limited, would likewise make shut circuit TV cameras, digital video recorders, Smartphones. Set up at an expense of Rs 150 crore at the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster, the plant is required to employ 800 people, as per authorities.
Naidu said his vision was to make Tirupati the gadgets producing center of the nation and Special Employment Zone by getting more local and multi-national programming and equipment units. It would also be produced into a lake city as there were a few lakes here, he included.
Talking on the event, Dixon Executive Chairman Sunil Vachani said the plant has an ability to deliver 8.5 lakh LED TVs per each annum. It would be dramatically multiplied to 2.7 million units and further scaled up to 3.7 million, he said without determining whenever outline. He said 10 million CCTV cameras and 2 million digital video recorders would likewise be fabricated here every year.
Afterward, Naidu also launched Smart TV produced by Xiaomi Corporation at a capacity here.
