India beat Reigning Asia Cup holder, Sri lanka in the finals by 81 runs, clinching the title after 15 years.

Winning the toss, India elected to bat first. India posted 268 for six wickets. Openers Gautam Gambhir and Dinesh Karthik gave the team a good start. and later, Team India Skipper Dhoni and Karthik stitched a fine partnership of 46 runs, helping India set the target of 268. Dinesh Kartik scored 66 runs off 84 balls. Sri lanka’s Thilina Kandamby picked up two wickets for 37 runs in his 7 over spell.
In reply, Sri Lanka were bundled out for 187 runs in 44.4 overs. Sri Lanka’s top scorred for the team with unbeaten 55 runs off 88 balls. India’s Ashish Nehra picked up 4 wickets for 40 runs in his 9 overs.
