FIFA World Cup 2010: Australia vs Ghana: The Socceroos battle against the Group leader

untitled.jpg

Australia is still suffering from its 4-0 loss to Germany, while Ghana is flying high after a 1-0 win over Serbia, earned on the back of a penalty. Germany, Serbia and Ghana are tied for first in Group D with three points each, although Ghana have a game in hand. Australia picks up the rear.

A win by Ghana would secure them 3 more points, giving them the sole lead and put them in a excellent position to win the group. A draw would not be so bad for Ghana as it would be for the Socceroos as the African team can control their destiny heading into the final round of games.

The Socceroos have it all to do, needing a win against Ghana to have a realistic chance at making it to the second round.
