FIFA World Cup 2010: Serbia leads Germany 1-0 at half time

The first half of group D match between Germany and Serbia came to an end with Serbia leading the Germans 1-0. Jovanovi of Serbia scored at the 38th minute which saw Serbia taking lead over Germany.

Germany, who had 10 shots on target durining last match’s goal frenzy against Australia, are expected to play the 2nd half, more cautiously to contain a determined Serbia team, who need a win to stand any real chance of reaching the second round. Although German enjoyed the bigger percentage of possession, but they failed to find the nets. German striker Miroslav Klose got the only Red card of the match until now, thus becoming the 7th German to be sent off in a FIFA World Cup.

The Serbians are expected to give their best in the second so that they can finish the game as winner. A victory would put them back in the race for the second round berths. A loss or a tie, however, would leave the door open for Ghana to advance to the next round at Serbia’s expense, should the Africans defeat Australia.
