New Governor Shiv Charan Mathur takes oath today.
The newly appointed Governor of Assam Sri. Shivcharan Mathur has already reached Guwahati today and is ready to take oath today. He will be the new occupant of Raj Bhawan in Guwahati.
On reaching Guwahati Mr. Shivcharan Mathur had said that if the government fails to restore Peace and Harmony in the state, development would not be possible. He also said that restoration of peace in Assam is one of his chief agenda during his tenure.
The state Government had arranged for his reception at the Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport here on Thursday evening. He garlanded the statue of Gopinath Bordoloi at Guwahati Airport and took the Guard of Honour.
