Barak Rail left behind in the race by Tripura.

As the tussle continues over the broad-gauge railway here in Barak Valley, Tripura has shown us the path and has left us behind in this race too. In a bid to connect Tripura directly via rail link with all major Indian metros, the state government has been able to install broad-gauge rail link in the state.

After 60 years of Independence, for the first time the iron wheels of rail rolled on the newly laid tracks and Agartala was resonating with the Jig-jig of the engine. It was at around 3pm on Sunday evening that the rail engine finally arrived in the state capital.

Meanwhile the rift between Delhi and Dispur has come to the fore following this incident which has proved nothing but the incapability of the government and its unwillingness to connect Barak Valley by broad-gauge rail link.
