For cause of thalassaemia

Uttaran, an NGO of Silchar working with a noble mission,extended financial assistance to children afflicted by thalassaemia on the occasion of the annual function of the children’s Park near Normal School on Sunday. A significant event of the day were the songs of human interest sung by singer and social activist of Murshidabad,Sarbani Mazumder who is on a nationwide trip to raise fund for the needy and neglected, particularly thalassaemia patients. During her
current four month campaign, she has been in BarakValley and sung for charity at Karimganj and Hailakandi to wind up her mission at Silchar.

On behalf of Uttaran, general secretary Mita Daspurkayastha and member Swarnali Chowdhury handed over a token fund raised by them to Sarbani Mazumder. The programme was enlivened by Bihu songs by violet Barua,SP Cachar, and recitations by Sanchita Ganguly, chief advisor of
Uttaran.
