Campaign to fight against malaria
Central Heavy Industry minister Santosh Mohan Deb advised the government officials and the NGOs to take care about the conditions of the villages to fight malaria.
The minister attended a mosquito-net distribution function arranged by Rotary Club of Silchar. He inaugurated the function by handing over medicated mosquito-nets to five villagers. In his speech, Santosh Mohan said, “Mosquito-nets cannot totally remove malaria. As long as there is mosquito, there is malaria. The hygienic condition of the villages needs to be improved for this. Everybody including the government officials and NGOs must take proper attention of this.”
The function was attended by District Magistrate Gautam Ganguly, Municipal Commissioner Alok Kar and members of Rotary Club, Malugram Vanguard Club and Tarapur Friends club.
