Fishing festival flags off

The first fishing festival of Barak valley is about to flag off with the release of fishes in the Rabindra Sarabor of Hailakandi town.

State border development minister Gautam Roy will release the fishes in the sarabor. The occasion will be presided by district magistrate Tapanchandra Goswami. Dance and musical programs have been arranged for the occasion. Felicitations will be given to eleven progressive fish cultivators. This will be followed by discussion sessions on fish cultivation and fish production.

Fisheries development in-charge, Gopal Chandra Bhowmik, has appealed for support from the people of all sections of the society for success of the festival.
