Still more high capacity hydro-electric power stations in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh government continues to approve the construction works of high capacity hydro-electric power stations on the rivers at the foothills of the Himalayas.

The government is showing extreme disinterest about the natural and social destruction the projects are causing. The national-international collaborative projects are to the interest of a handful opportunist individuals who are building their own bank balance though the destruction of this sensitive natural zone. The organization named as NHPC continues with its construction projects with active support from both the central and state government. The stations, at the source of rivers which feed the Brahmaputa, will create a huge water crisis in the future. Inspite of all the protests from NGOs and conscious citizens, the Assam government is acting as a silent observer in the whole story.

The outcome of the projects will be very destructive which will affect the future life of both Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
