Crime : State Bank employee in Fake Currency in Silchar

A fake currency racket has been nabbed in Silchar last weekend. Mr. S. Barman an employee with the State Bank of India was the man who operated this entire nexus.

He along with his accomplice Tamang and one Mr. Rao whom Barman named as the man who supplied them with the currency , operated this entire network. Mr.Rao or Rao saab as they call him met with them on different places in North Bengal and supplied them twice the amount of Fake currency notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 when Barman gave him the money.

The police had arrested Barman with three other man whom they suspect of being n the nexus. Bt due to some procedural errors, they were framed u.s. 189(C) of the IPC and their lawyers could manage a bail yesterday. But now the police has been under tremendous pressure to arrest them u.s. 189 (B) so that it is non bail able. In the meanwhile Barman, the State Bank employee has resumed his services, but is expected to face a separate departmental enquiry also.
