Ishmeet ’s sudden death and the probability of foul play!
The untimely and tragic death of the budding singer Ishmeet Singh Sodhi has shocked his family,fans as well as the music fraternity.The news of his death came as a bolt from the blue when his parents were informed about his death due to drowning in Maldives. Initially,there was no proper information as to what has happened.
Later,it was found out that Ishmeet drowned in the swimming pool of the Chaaya Island Dhonveli resort where he was putting up along with some of his co-singers.The fact that a tall person like Ishmeet drowned in the middle of the swimming pool in the presence of two of his friends raised many eyebrows.This suspicion grew strong when it was found that Ishmeet’s dead body had some bruises and abrasions.
Though the post-mortem conducted on Ishmeet’s body showed that he died due to asphyxia as a result of drowning,his family suspects a foul play as Ishmeet just escaped a near death situation just two weeks prior to his death.It was reported that on July 13,the singer’s car was hit from behind on the Mumbai-Pune highway and Ishmeet had a hairbreadth escape.
Ishmeet’s viscera had been sent to laboratories at Kharar and Patiala’s Rajindra Medical College.The doctors ruled out the bruises as a cause of Ishmeet’s death.The doctors further speculated that the bruises may have been caused when Ishmeet’s body sunk and hit the bottom of the pool.
However, Ishmeet’s bereaved family is not convinced still and wants a detailed investigation in this matter and Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal is reported to have assured that he would write to the Prime Minister and the home minister to take up the issue of holding high-level inquiry to ascertain the cause of Ishmeet’s death with the Maldives government.
