Chief Minister visits Barak Valley
Chief Minister Sri Tarun Gogoi was on a official trip to the three districts of Cachar Karimganj And Hailkandi on the 26th of July. He was touring the valley considering the problems that had arisen inside the party in these places.
He also inaugurated a few projects as per schedule, but his main emphasis was on restructuring the party unit in the districts. He also shuffled some key people. Sri. Gautam Roy the state excise minister in charge of Karimganj has been removed from additional charge following some tensions in karimganj congress.
He also said that the governmnet in tune with the centre will implement some long pending developmental activities of the district and also recommended Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on renaming the Silchar Railway station to Bhasha Shahid Station.
